Currently use the Vincent phono preamp 8.

Any suggestions for stepping up without spending more than $1000?

I used one for several years. I am not going to mention the phono stage that I purchased for just under $1000 on sale which was not an upgrade and is literally the most disappointing unit I have ever purchased. You best bet is probably the Musical Surrounding Phonomena II+ which I think is $750 new. Great unit. The Musical Fidelity MX VINYL was discontinued. I could try and get you one as it looks like their is still inventory at the wholesaler. It is $999. Those are your two best options IMO.
