Current speaker threads are boring

Almost no talk regarding great speakers, just some endless midlevel stuff. Why is that?

I can't afford it either for now, even used. This doesn't mean that I am not interested. Amp and analog threads often do discuss high level equipment.
We are not talking about cost directly, though great speakers will and should cost enough. $15k is probably a good start.
Some of them, sure, and few of them are audiophiles. I am interested in audiophile experience not BS.
There is no need for definition, when you hear it you know it.
I like this " I am an arrogant prick " line.
Choice of speakers is very personal so the discussion would also become very personal.
Of all elements of the chain speakers are the closest to instruments and in fact are the easiest to evaluate. You don't need a lot of time to know.
As for the what'sbest forum, I don't participate there but read some from time to time. The last time I read about Echole cables.
It also appears that many people here view this forum as a free consulting service. I think, it is only part of it and not the most important part.

No worries, I can't afford them either, but even if I could those speakers would require electronics of about the same cost, so it would be a $100k system new or maybe $50k used.
Andrew, how is JM Labs Grand Utopia?
And I don't think there are "giant killers", not to mention the stupid and violent language of this phrase, it's a myth for poor people.
$2000 is huge money in a poor country, you must be doing alright.
Ralph of Atma-Sphere says a lot of helpful things. Does a lot of self-advertising as well, part of it is negative self-advertising.
I am sure I could try so many fine speakers. This is a general topic thread. And yes, one of the traits of fine speakers is that they are not boring. To be a little poetic - speakers must have 'soul' not just particular sound signature. They are not only devices, they are 'instruments' designed to reproduce the sound of all other instruments. This is a monumental task to accoplish. Building fine amp or turntable etc. looks like elementary school project compared to this.
The last interesting speaker thread was about vintage speakers and speaker technology advances, or as some thought the lack of them. Different impressions, different angles, different points of view.
Most old guard members stopped posting here or appear very rarely. They have a lot to say but lost interest.
