Contenders are here

I just received my new Nola Contender 3, serial numbers 603 and 604! Built to order, no stock kept, at least at my dealer. I have only plated them about three hours, long way to go to break them in! I can tell you that they match beautifully with my Mac MA 252. Out of  the box they are phenomenal sounding, just like all Carl Marchisotto designs, you get a wall of sound full of definition and incredibly low end perfectly clear! I am listening to my original Sade Promise on vinyl and it sounds magnificent. Mishima sounded powerful and elegant in the appropriate passages. Stanley Clarke's lowest bass notes in The Romantic Warrior were clear very low! Miles sounded amazing ... I could go on for a while so I will stop. I will continue to break them in and will post as they progress!

Congratulations on the new speakers.  I run the Boxer 2’s and find them very special.  Looking forward to hearing your impressions after they break in.

Congratulations on the new speakers! I ran Alon, Carl's prior company, Lotus Elite's for a few years and loved them, had to give em up when I moved to a smaller place.

Enjoy the heck out of 'em! Listening to my Boxers right now. The only component in my system that's never given me trouble and has never failed to satisfy my ears.

I had the Contender S2's awhile ago  great speaker and they get even

better as the you go through break in. Enjoy

I lust after a pair of Nola KO2s.  Nola speakers just seem to get priced through the stratosphere as they go to version 3 or Gold, etc.  Not saying they’re not worth it, but Jeez!

Celtic great catch ... yes they are tasty! Everyone else thank you. Four hours in and the sound awesome Can't wait for the breaking period to end!

By the way, sometimes it takes me a while to log in and chat, stage 4 cancer with no remission changes plans by the minute. if I don't respond right away, it's chemo brain at work! Have a drink on me! Celebrate life any way you can! Listening to music is an awesome way to do it! My blog references all of this in music, equipment and dealing with life these days! If interested it is outside-edges.com. You are welcome to email through the blog! Thanks everyone!

Congrats on the speakers; I've always enjoyed Nola's models at shows over the years. They will almost certainly sound better after being mechanically broken in over 100+ hours to loosen everything up. Have fun with them!

Enjoying the Nola's very much. I am lucky to have a wife that enjoys this hobby. After I told her my budget could stretch to $2500.00 she calmly said, "I'll match your $2500.00, what can you get that you will love till the day you die. The following week we ordered and 30 days later they were here, birth certificate and all signed by Carl. Awesome experience!
