Constrained layer damping tape on XLR cable connectors?

While it's fairly accepted practice to place constrained layer damping tape on AC connectors and chassis, is it contraindicated for XLR connectors and speaker cable connectors?

I've also had great results with fo.Q on analog interconnects and speaker connections -- for some reason I did not like the results on digital connections however. And a little goes a long way so take care not to over damp with too much of the stuff a 1-2cm by <0.5cm strip is more than all you need
The right type of damping tape works incredibly well on XLR connectors, and on the entire cable for that matter, and also on wall outlet plates and power cable connectors. For me, the right type of tape is fo.Q TA-32  (cheapest to buy from Japan via eBay).
