Connections to Resolution Audio CD50

Hi guys,

I just got a CD50 off A'gon and I have a couple questions about it, I was hoping the kind folks here could help.  So far it sounds pretty good, however, I'm wondering if there's more:

It has both 'single-ended' and XLR outputs on the back, and currently I'm using some standard RCA IC's I like to pair it with my NAD 7175PE.

1) Is there a difference between 'single-ended' and RCA?  If so, what does that mean for IC selection?

2) Would there be a benefit to using a pair of XLR-to-RCA IC's for the connection instead?

Thanks!

Typically, they're the same thing. I say "typically" because you can use RCAs as part of a balanced connection, such as on a phono preamp with a separate ground.

Nope. That would result in an unbalanced (single ended) connection, the same as using the RCA output jacks.
