Connecting Bidat Wired Remote

I recently found my Museatex Bidat wired remote. I've read numerous threads that using this and by passing my preamp will improve the performance of my transport. May seem obvious to others, but what type of cable would I use for the connection to my amplifier, and if I make this connection, how do I still connect my preamp to the amplifier so I can use componets such as the tuner?
