Condescending remarks about members

I apologize to members who I offended with my evaluation of jmcgrogan2 and his peculiar sense of humor! I realize tolerance and tact in the face of questionable behavior must be maintained! Should non sincere advise by members be tolerated on this site! That's my question! I find Audiophile advise should be sincere!

Sometimes sarcasm can be a bit too biting, and those who cross the line shouldn't be too thin skinned for a sharp rebuke.

If you take offense to John's comment, maybe you should stay away from the forums. He commented that there was another thread to start an argument about cables. If you have been here long enough, you realize those threads (arguments) have been going on since the forum started, and the result now will be exactly the same as it was 15 years ago. When you have been a member for the length of time and seen the number of non productive cable arguments that he has, you will possibly begin to understand. In addition, the comment was harmless. If you don't like it, just ignore it. Compared to many of the comments that are posted now on these forums, that was very mild and didn't merit any mention. Also, learn how to use punctuation man. Not every sentence ends with an exclamation point!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Questions end with question marks and regular conversation ends with a period. Unless, of course, you feel like what you have to say is that important.
Csmgolf: So the gentlemans name is John.
Interesting. Your obvious a friend since you revealed his name. I'm a former retired New York executive! Silly me and my punctuation! Guess maybe I should just buy and sell and avoid this forum! God help you wouldn't tolerate a inappropriate
platform of idea. Warm and fuzzy and politically correct! Sorry csmgolf. Didn't want to challenge your friend or views.
Hey, not one explanation point! Excuse me.
Pennsy the monster signing off . Sorry to suggest sponsorship of what the site deals in! High end advice!
Hi Pennsy -

Time to take the chill pill, my friend.  I am not quite sure what being a former NY executive has to do with anything, especially when it comes to proper grammar and use of punctuation.  It is also not unusual to know some of the first names around here, it means nothing more than we have been contributing to this forum for awhile.

I have been a member here for the last 15 years or so and like life, you come across all types.  I have had members get upset to the core when I questioned a basic assertion they have made ... my guess is that they get upset just as quickly outside of this forum.  Then again, I remember this discussion about the Beach Boy's 'Pet Sounds' that was a genuine illuminating discussion with many different viewpoints.

All this over a cables discussion ... imagine if it were about something that mattered.

Be well,

Rich
current NY executive

Yes jmcgrogan2 is a long time member and poster with much respect. He has been around the block and at times does use his form of humor. It is harmless and all is good really.
I'm gone! I have a sense of humor for humor! Just not John's! I'm old school! It doesn't fit here! Sorry to rock the boat! My setup with electronics is a significant investment and I take it seriously! Too seriously for Audiogon Facebook! And yes I used all explanation points!  I've requested removal of my anal retentive thoughts! Chow!
