Compact bookshelf stereo system

I believe it was in the 80's or early 90's, that I became interested in a bookshelf system. It consisted of a subwoofer, two satellite speakers which were wood grain finish. The unit consisted of a CD player on the top and on the front a tuner and cassette player. I believe they were 8-10" in height and 4-6" wide. It was a wonderful solidly put together and not of the department store type. The problem is I can't remember the name or who made the unit. Any body remember who it was and by whom? It had a tremendous sound and I would love to acquire on!
Might of been Bang and Olufsen or Nakamichi.
Include Teac,Sony and Denon on that list. Ebay is a good start.
