At least one out of one hundred of GKs posts were funny and he came off knowledgeable. Your postings seems like the result of some kind of obsessive weirdness.. Why else would you make unlimited references to your virtual page? Why else would you repeat the same boring fanboy messages as if we didn’t have them memorized the second time? We’re talking about six thousand posts in 22 months. And you are one of the two posters on this site who wrote offensive, belittling things about Almarg’s system. GK treated Al with the respect he deserves. Why do I remember, because I couldn’t believe someone took the time to insult the most liked gentleman on A’gon. I happen to like Geoff. I always felt people attacked him 1st, and he went into defense mode, obviously, attacking back. The way I see it, A'gon is not the same as years ago. I am on other sites, and there is less crap, and more professionalism, on these other sites. Maybe, Geoff, wised up, and is less interested, or fed up, with what goes on here, on the A'gon. I certainly do not wish GK any illwill at all and hope he is well. However he came across as very condescending in majority of our interactions and always seemed to think it was best to belittle anyone and everyone. Nobody had to " attack" him first. That's just the way he was. I hope AudioAsylum knows what it has let itself in for........ |
Excellent post, @jetter. Are you as amused as I by how using springs for isolation is now all the rage here, when GK had been singing it’s praises for years and was completely ignored? (Not by I; I have both models of his springs under various components.). I guess he has no one to blame but himself for that, considering some of the other items he offers on his Machina Dynamica website. Speaking of spring isolation: the Townshend Seismic line of products takes si to another level, but are considerably more expensive than simple springs. They too have been praised here on Audiogon, though GK posited that their damping function results in less isolation than bare springs. Those interested enough to investigate can easily find the Townshend Audio YouTube videos, wherein Max Townshend explains the theory behind and demonstrated the effectiveness of his Seismic Pod. |

As I was in the audio industry, living in the N.Y. area, I remember meeting Geoff at a few audio shows ( both, at the consumer level, and industry insider level ), throughout the area. He and I discussed this on here, but honestly, he did not remember me, and why should he, as we are going back prior to ’95, and I was just one of thousands of faces. Anyway, I enjoyed his information, then, and here, used a few of his products, experienced his teleportation tweak ( although admittedly, never really heard a benefit ), and exchanged kind words with him. He was opinionated, but so am I. So are many others here ( someone say mc ).There are a handful of people here, I can do without, and I know, a few who feel this way about me. But, I would never wish harm, on anyone, because of an audio belief, or difference of opinion, to mine. Enjoy !, be well and stay safe.....all..... |

'It' is what you perceive 'It' to be.....or not. Each has their own interpretation/impression, and each is similar but still unique. SOTA is, and always will be, just out of reach... It's the individual pursuit of it that 'moves' most. For some, that's the point. For others, reaching their own 'high water mark' is enough. As for GK, as long as 'the mystery' has been essentially solved... Next. ;) |
