CLOCK UPGRADE

I bought a Cambridge Audio DACMAGIC and was very impressed with what it did for my humble/cheap Phillips 753 CD player.

After some research on the topic I found out that the 753 is actually cut from the same cloth as the marantz cd 4000 that is used as the AH NJOE TJOEB players.

In addition to this it happens to use a PHILLIPS VAM 1201 mechanism - something that has even be used on a KRELL (not sure which one, but I'm sure I can locate it if challenged).

Anyway my prequel leads me to this. I am umming and ahhing about whipping out my soldering iron and re-clocking my player, along with some power supply upgrades.

I am not majorly into CD players as vinyl is my passion - I must say that I am coming to the realisation that I can't be a format fascist.

I don't want to get a new transport because I see myself using a PC as a digital source before too long, hence the tinkering approach at this moment.

ANYWAY ENOUGH OF MY RABBITTING!

WHAT ARE YOUR EXPERIENCES?
WHAT PLAYER DID YOU UPGRADE?
WHAT IS THE MECHANISM?
WHAT PARTS DID YOU UPGRADE?

HELP ME IF YOU CAN

I have not upgraded the clock on my player but I remembered seeing a review on this clock mod/upgrade that may be of interest to you: http://www.positive-feedback.com/Issue46/terra_firma_lite.htm

Hope it helps.
