Clearaudio " Innovation" - What?

Clearaudio has been around for a while and has quite a few well made models to cater for different ends of the vinyl market. I've noted their most recent models are called CA Innovation wood turntables which looks quite attractive where as I find most of their past acrylic models unappealing.

Calling their new model "Innovation" is a bit pretentious perhaps. I'm just wondering what true innovations has Clearaudio brought to the vinyl playback over the years? I'm curious to learn from those who has more knowledge on the subject.

I think the "innovations" are the magnetic ceramic bearing and optical speed control. Google "Clearaudio Innovation Wood" and you'll find a review or two that discuss these things. Whether they're true innovations I couldn't tell you but they make for a damned fine sounding turntable.
Yes, why pick on Clearaudio about the literality of a product name? I owned a Michell Orbe for years and thought it a fine turntable; but you know, it isn't actually spherical! I've known a few overweight guys named Robert; the Transrotor Fat Bob doesn't resemble any of them! And TW Acustik Raven isn't really a bird at all! What gives???
