It will almost certainly sound different. Better is up to your ears.
Changing the transformer in ARCAM-any problem?
Hi guys,
I need some help. Recently my Arcam 9 (integrated amp) had some problems so I sent it in for repair to the local hi end audio store. The repair guy said that the problem was the toroidal transformer. However, he replaced the stock unit with one he had in stock from Bang & Olufsen. My question is, will his change the sound of my integrated? Is this something I should be concerned about?
The repair guy said it is much better than the stock transformer.
Any suggestions?
