CD/DVD Transports to Surround Processor

I'm actively looking at the Meridian 800 & 861 (DVD & Processor, respectively), and was wondering, more generally, if all I need is a DVD Transport into a Surround Procesor. That is, let the Transport pick-up the signal, then forward this onto the Pre-Pro's Processor.

Sounds right. Transport - Pre Amp (Processor) - Amp - Speakers. Thats what I use. If you go digital out between your transport and pre you can use the dac's in your pre-amp for stereo.
That's a big 10-4 good buddy. Some high end transports don't even have dac's. As is the case with my Theta DaViD. I do the D/A conversion in my Theta Casa-Nova. I trust you will get great synergy when using compatable components such as the two you have listed. Next problem blending the sound into your speakers with proper cross-overs to your sub-woofer. Don't be afraid to drop the cash for great cabling especially if you want a big dynamic sound stage. And I know you do.
Theta should pay me a commission on this one.

PS- There is a CasaII at e-bay right now check it out.
