I have been using an AE3 for a few years now (see my system) and have not looked back. The thing I noticed first is that acoustic guitars are made of wood and with the tube pre they really sound like it. Watch the gon for a used one, usually around $400, and be sure to get a pair of decent tubes. I don't think you can beat it for the price. Just my opinion.
Cary SLP-30 vs Cary SLP-50 vs AES AE-3 Preamp???
I was wondering what you all thought of the listed cary pre-amps and whether there is one that would be better for me over the others. My amp is a Plinius sa-100 mkiii and I have totem speakers. Looking for some more warmth and smoothness to tame that digital end. Thank you.
