Cartridge for Sony PS-X6

I recently purchased a Sony PS-X6 that came with a Grado ZT+ cartridge. The cartridge sounds okay but I’m fairly certain I could improve the sound with another cartridge. I’m looking in the $100-125 range. From my initial research the Nagaoka MP110 or the Sumiko Pearl look good to me. Would either of these work well with this turntable? Or perhaps I should just move up the Grado line. Any suggestions are appreciated.

The rest of my system is a Luxman 505ux integrated and Dynaudio Special 25 speakers. I don't want anything too bright on top or too boomy on the bottom end.

If you don't want bright, stay away from the Ortofon 2M red.

I had one on my Sony PS-X5 for a couple years, and bit the bullet to buy a Denon DL-110.

It is more than you want to spend, but it sounds amazingly good, and is a really good match for my TT. I believe you would be well served to save up a few more $$$ and spring for one. Of course this is just my opinion, so take it for what it's worth.

Thanks for the responses. I've read great things about the Denon but it's just more than I want to spend right now. Glad to hear the Nag MP110 worked well with the PS_X5. That's probably the direction I'm heading.

Your budget is too low for a good cartridge, but for $200-250 you can find Ortofon M20FL Super with FineLine stylus tip. This is superb cartridge at this price point! Seach more info on audiogon about it, it was long time favorite in MM thread, but many years ago it was much cheaper. I still have NOS stylus in original box for this model (nude FineLine).
