Can you use tune dem to set your volume level?

I've been thinking about this for awhile.  First, I set the volume to where I can hear everything.  I then adjust volume up or down(slightly) to where it becomes a song(and not just individual notes, etc.).  This might not work for jazz or classical.  Has anyone else experimented with this?
