After working for 50 full years, I feel that I have already done my part as well as others parts. I was a temp boss when our boss was in hospital and out off work for almost a year. I was promised extra compensation for doing 2 jobs at same time but received a big fat nothing. When I wanted to retire at the end of the school year on June15th, I was told I couldn’t get my 4 weeks vacation from the year before unless I worked until July. So for the last 2 weeks of work I showed up and did absolutely NOTHING. My reward for 35 years of service was I had to wait until the end of July To receive my 4 weeks vacation pay even though my contract said I could receive my money on July 1.
The Superintendent and Human Resources director did come by to shake my hand On my last day, then they went out to lunch. I wasn’t invited along. So as long winded as this is, I have already done all my share(s) and just want to rest. Let the millennials do something, I have nothing left to give. |

To the ones who think it is their right to go back to normal, good for you. If I don’t see you posting here for a while, I will assume you died from the virus but I will not shed one tear for you. We were all warned, if you want to play Russian Roulette with your health, go right ahead. Just remember if you get sick, you will drag others down with you.
I am as antsy as the next person to go out and do things, but I am also sensible and will not go back to normal regardless of what the others say. Only when I feel comfortable will I carry on. I didn’t work my entire life to just retire and die unnecessarily. 80,000+ dead in the past 3 months means this virus is very real. It is probably much higher now that some of the red states aren’t keeping track of the deaths any longer. If the present government says 80,000 it is probably more like over 100,000. Just think if a family member of yours was included in this death total, you would all probably be singing a different tune.
The BS being said that anyone who wants a test can get one is total BS. Maybe for the top 1% which most of us here aren’t in that category. My 71 year old sister has developed shortness of breath and a dry cough but because she doesn’t have a fever yet can’t get tested. For us other 99%, you have to be practically on deaths door before you can get tested and the tests are not FREE.

I was supposed to get an extra 20K that year and got nothing. They are way ahead of the game as it was the last 2 weeks before retirement. No one owes me anything and I don’t remember asking you for permission. I hope you aren’t a legit audio store because I certainly would never buy from you and I would advise my many friends from doing so as well.
@ozzy62, you are right but I re-read my post and thought it better to be more civilized than you could ever hope to be, so I re-wrote it NANCY. You, MC and quite a few others are quite arrogant. You guys need to stop watching One America News and Fox. FYI, Bill Gates has given away more money than the next 20 richest billionaires in the world (Forbes). He is not researching or making a vaccine, he is GIVING money to fund it. No one is going to inject you with any vaccine with a chip in it. We don’t have that technology yet. One of the studies is to give a very low dose of the virus so your body builds up its own Antibodies to the virus. If you don’t want to get vaccinated when there is a cure, that is your business. My family will take the vaccine when available. I care less and have zero sympathy for anyone who refuses the vaccine and dies from the virus once it is readily available to us regular peons.
I find it discouraging that almost all the other major countries have this virus under control while cases are rising rapidly here. That is mostly because people aren’t wearing masks and aren’t social distancing and other reasons. Most of the governments in the other countries got ahead of the virus in the beginning, our government denied it even existed. |

There is no deep state, that was made up by the president his first day in office. No state wants to be shut down, they can’t afford it. Voting by mail is the safest way to vote, after all the president and his family, all service members and also myself vote by mail. Fraud is being mentioned so that if the one in office now loses the election, he can claim fraud and try once again to steal the presidency. Why is voting by mail open to fraud yet many states already allow it and the Armed Forces Has done it since day one? Like I stated earlier, I thought this was a fairly educated group. I hope you didn’t get your diploma from TU. |

The only thing I have learned from this thread are there are a lot of members in these forums who are very racist, believe in white privilege, believe only white lives matter, believe in fake news vs the real news, love Russia and dictators, think their rights are more important than wearing a mask to protect others. They are also people who lack any kind of empathy, believe the government is coming after their so precious guns ( I do not own one and never will) and believe in every conspiracy story known to man. Unfortunately, my son is like you in his beliefs and that hurts me greatly as it makes me feel I failed him as his father.
I also have learned that none of you would ever be welcome in my home and that I will no longer read any of your responses in any thread. You are part of the problem in this country. Perhaps when DT cuts Medicaid and SSI, people who are disabled or can’t work due to health reasons and depend on that source of income will see the light. You are a sorry group of people. Hillary said it best, you truly are deplorables. May God help us all.
