Yup, doesn't have to cost a fortune to do a great job. The reason there are 4K cables is because someone WILL pay 4K or NOT. I'm in the NOT column. DIY, nothing better, unless someone does it for you..

Thanks rixthetrick , very informative. It may boil down to 1s and 0s, BUT how it gets there through the ANALOG cable makes a difference in how it does sound. The lack of a quality signal, always equates to how well a component retrieves, transmits, receives and then DAC with only buffer and no correction, JUST estimation.

Granted the CODE that does the guessing is getting better and better, BUT, it is still CODE and SOMEONE’S own personality is reflected there.

Say what you will. I’d rather see a DAC chip designed with BOTH kinds of code writers. One that is a musician, AND a guy that KNOWS how to add elegance that is simplistic, thorough and compact in size and execution that reflects just that, Accurate and FAST conversion. Data is Data? I can’t remember that last time my cable actually transmitted a bad packet between router and consumer. Like ZERO. Transmission from the actual pole can be slower and have buffering issues, but ZERO packets have to be RE-sent, JUST SENT period..

Quality cable construction equals to higher SQ. Always has, always will.

The same goes for POORER quality CONSTRUCTION and the TYPE of materials..

So is it 0s and 1s or 1s and 0s? Just asking. :-)

Well opinions are like anything else. One person's opinion is another persons fact. There's the fact on this forum. Just because someone disagrees with someone else doesn't negate another person's FACT.

It's the "PROVE IT TO ME" crowd that's not PAYING for the service BUT screaming for the proof.  This forum is for sharing ideas, NOT opinions about others discoveries and how it doesn't pass one of their TEST.

People here want to hear NEW ideas not how "WIRE" when it should be "CABLE" works. It add a layer of ignorance in the conversation with just simple nomenclature.

Again we are talking about a cable that can cost 5 dollars or 4K.

That's the whole RUB.. there is no need to justify anything.. Paying for it is a whole different story. But then I think of all the Gambling Casinos and betting CRAP that should be outlawed.. It's just praying on the weak and offering a hope of a 25K jackpot per 100 persons that bet 2K when they stay.. Remember ol Chevy Chase in Vegas..
