Can someone explain HDMI 2.0, and HDCP 2.2...

I am planning on purchasing a new UH 4K Tv shortly, and hope to optimize image quality and high bandwidth. I don't want an obsolete AV processor, or BD player. My current rig is all HDMI 1.4a compliant, with an Oppo 105d that up converts to 4K. The only processor I've seen that incorporates the new HDMI codecs is the top of line Integra 80.6.
I wrote to Oppo, and here is their response:

There is no need to support HDMI 2.0 or HDCP 2.2 since the player is an upscaling Blu-ray player. These technologies are only necessary when you want to use a native 4Kx2K player.

Can someone help me suggest timing/need to optimize my new processor purchase, from the current Marantz 7005 I now own, or whether it doesn't matter, and just be happy with HDMI 1.4a with up conversions and 4k pass thru. I am confused. I am hoping to stream native 4k content from Netflix, and Directv when available.
Thanks for your answers.
