Cambridge or Benchmark your opinion please

First off, about 90% of my listening is through my iPod, (loss-less files and Pandora)which feeds a Wadia 171i transport which it then feeds to one of the digital inputs on my Cambridge Audio AZUR 840C. I have had the Cambridge for about three years and it requires service for the third time, the disk will not mount unless you tap the drawer with some force. Sorry, to my question. The Cambridge sounds good, but I have heard quite a bit about the Benchmark DAC1, such as being immune to jitter and great sound quality and am wondering do I throw in the towel on the Cambridge? Is the Benchmark a better sounding DAC than the Cambridge? Thanks!
