Calling Marten Duke 2 Owners - Do You Fill The Speaker Stands?

Do you fill the original stands of the Marten Duke 2? If yes, do you fill them to three quarter full or full, and is there an appreciable or significant difference in sound quality between an empty stand and filled stand?

I would appreciate any thoughts on the above.

Spoiler alert- it doesn't matter what stand or who made it, adding mass will improve dynamics, reinforce bass, and doing it with sand or lead shot will also lower the noise floor. However since it damps vibration it will also tend to reduce presence somewhat. How much these change depends on what was going on in the first place. If you tap on the stand and its absolutely dead then not much. If you tap and hear a hollow ring and long decay then expect a lot more improvement.

In any case what you're doing is tuning the speaker/stand system to your preference. So if you take someone else's answer then you're tuning to their preference. Not yours.
Filling the stands with sand / lead will help damp out vibration and resonances. Not filling (damping) the vertical tubes will allow the tube to resonate at specific frequency or a small range of frequency.
Thanks for the responses. I’ve tapped on the stands with a flick of my fingers. It didn’t ring too much but the sound is hollow. Will get some sand used for sandblasting to fill the pillars very soon. Can’t do anything at the moment with the lockdown.
