Cable Break-in....again?

I recently purchased a used set of cables. According to the prior owner, the cables had been given roughly 120 hours of play time (the required break-in time according to the manufacturer). However, it seems that once I install the cables in my system, I can hear them break-in again, as if they were new.

Do you think that once a cable (either speaker or interconnect) has been disconnected for a period of time, they require another break-in period?

OK,for you guys that dont believe in breakin, explain this;I let a gentleman at work who has a modest system and loves jazz and classical, borrow a pair of Signal cable Analog2 ICs that have been in constant use for 1 yr.,to replace the IC that came with his CDplayer,(he has never even heard about break-in) to make a long story shorter,,,he loved what he heard! So he buys a brand new pr,installs them, comes over to me at work a couple days later all panicky,,,they sound terrible,,,they cant be the same cable as the one you lent me!,they must have changed the way they make them,,,,im going to send it back,,i cant believe this!! SAME CABLE,,,a few weeks later he is happy and cant believe what happened,,,,So,,,please explain this guys!
Tvad,I never had his new cable,,i should have wrote(SAME BRAND AND MODEL) sorry, I do agree that a portion of the effect is getting used to the sound of a new wire.Yer right i could have had a little fun with him!!
Tvad ,sorry,i was a bit slow catching your first post, wish i would have thought of that
I bought a pr of AQ King Cobras brand new a while back,,they sounded much better after a couple weeks,,about a month later i bought another brand new pr.and they did not sound good,so i changed them back and forth a few times and could def. tell the diff. between the new one and old one,,
