Building dedicted listening room


I am building 21x14x8 listening room are there any good books on design and specs available and where to purchase them.

I would agree with both posts above. I own both of the the books mentioned and they are very informative. The Master Handbook has a section that is especially usefull in regards to ideal room dimensions. It lists the room proportions yeilding the most favorable distribution of room modes, and that with new construction it is strongly advised to use these porportions as a guide. It is true that a lot of this book is highly confusing stuff. I take some of what is said with caution as it is in refrence to the pro audio world side of things, which can be quite a differing opinion than that of the hifi world. I am also in the process of planning a dedicated listening room and would like to get some ideas from some hifi guys in the know on room acoustics. Maybe we can bounce some ideas off of each other and keep each other informed on information we find out along the way.
