Bluetooth 5.0 vs. Apple AirPlay

Which is a better format to play Sirius XM and other web-based music (e.g. Nugs.net) from my iPad/iPhone through a high-end DAC into a a fairly high-end stereo (McIntosh C2700 and MC611s), a McIntosh MB20 or through Apple AirPlay I have an Esoteric N-01XD for streaming and will use it’s DAC

SiriusXM is not that great, OK for the car.

I understand that airplay will pass 16/44 with accuracy and without compression. I’m not sure if that is true for Bluetooth.

I haven’t heard the latest Bluetooth codec.  AirPlay sounds lossy to me although an improvement over the Bluetooth that I have heard
