Best DVD/CD player for under 1k new or used?

Anyone has any suggestion on a good dvd/cd player that has good audio capablility for under a 1k new or used that would match well with my totem rainmakers and Nad c320bee? I mostly want the player for audio playback but thought it would be convenient to have both in one system. Is this a good course to take or having seperate players better in the long run and can last any upgrades I do for a while?

I've mostly heard of arcam in concern with dvd/cd players are there any others?
