Best classical SACDs out there

Looking for great classical music recordings in SACD. Both from a pperformance perspective and sound quality.

Living stereo has some great recording that also share expectacular performances. Others not so much. Pentatone sometimes has a good sound quality but the performance is not so good. Although they have some good performances as well like some of Fischer's concertos or sonatas. DG's are most of the times not too good when compared to the normal CD in my experience. Tend to be very similar if not almost the same from a sound quality performance.

What would your recomendations be for top SACDs where both things come together: a great performance and interpretation with excellent sonics?

Thanks

Always was a big fan of the Florilegium recordings of Bach:
Cantatas BWV 82a, BWV 199
Sinfonia (Mvt. 1) from Cantata BWV 146
Orchestral Suite No. 2 in B minor, BWV 1067

Living stereo I have many of them. Not in all cases, true, but in my opinion more often than not, the sonics are very good or even great. More so considering the time the recordings have, many from 50s and 60s. The performances are among the best too in many cases. I enjoy these series very much.

Kleiber's 5th and 7th from DG is also good. But the SACD gives no improvement over the regular CD. I bought it after owning the CD and in that sense was a disapoinment. The CD is good though.

Agree with Fischer's. Own both and they are among best of pentatone together with her 2 schubert violin and piano sonatas.

The other's will check them out. Thanks
Benjamin Britten Les illuminations, variations on a theme by Frank Bridge, serenade for tennor, horn and strings. Just stunning beauty. The Linn recording of the scottish ensemble.

Tschaikowsky Manfred Symphony Kitajenko and Gurzenich Orchester Koln on Oehms classics. Maybe the best recording of a symphony in my library, and this is superb conducting and playing. Audience noise is unobtrusive.
Not as easy to meet your criteria as one would think. A lot of good sound with subpar performances. And great performances with subpar sound. This last thing is esp true of the 'living stereo' stuff. Be careful with them.
