Best Audio Format for Apple I-Pod

Hi, would like to know which audio format is the best in terms of fidelity, the AIFF or the Apple lossless. I own an
I-Pod Photo, 60G, maximum capacity is not an issue. Just want the best sound out if it. Thanks,

I've read where some claim an i-pod filled with AIFF files will jam up, but I haven't had that problem. If I can use lossless without jamming the i-pod, and if it is the same quality as AIFF, I will switch to lossless.
