BBC Radio 3: Female Sibilance Killing Me

I love the BBC Radio 3 streaming service, but the sibilance, especially on female vocals/announcers, is just killing me to the point I just have to turn it off. It is this hissy, wispy overlay that is just maddening. Is anyone else experiencing the same, or am I just nuts (a possibility)? HELP!

Radio 3 is my musical bread and butter and there is not a day goes by that I don't either stream it or catch up with concerts on the I Player. I do not have the trouble you have with sibilants though but for one girl who unfortunately has a small speech impediment which can sound like sibilance and her name is Kate Mollison who is a Scot but I don't hold that against her as I am a Scot myself. I'm wondering if maybe your speakers are the culprit there as i'm sure you'll agree that the Beeb is a very professional organisation and pronounciation is still high on their list. I don't use speakers any longer but I do use high quallity headphones which are quite adept at picking up everything and except for the odd regional accent I never have any issues with any of the announcers. I hope you can get rid of your problem as I would not like to be deprived of my radio 3 concerts like you are especially since the Proms are being broadcast at the moment.
