I fixed this problem on my NAD cd player. You could still see the LCD very faintly from the front. After removing the cover I could not see any light bulbs but I then discovered 2 of them under a white cover over the LCD. I replaced them with bulbs from radioshack. Do not operate the unit without covering the laser as it can damage your eyes !!!! Check the voltage on the board at the burned out bulb to match it up with another bulb.
backlight is out on Rotel CD player
The Back light on my Rotel 945 Ax player went out. I opened the unit but didn't see any bulb separate from the LCD display device. Two questions: 1) is this self-serviceable? 2) if not, how much will it cost. I like the unit and would like to see track numbers. - Andrew
