Well I guess I would be a bit prejudiced since I have them but I'd go with the B&W DM603 S3's and bi-wire them using decent cable such as Tara Labs, Audioquest, etc. They're quite warm for an open room area but you may need a subwoofer at some point to round out the bass ext and overall balance.

I have the oppertunity to purchase the B&W's used for $700 or the PSB's ,demos, for a little less than that. I have a Carver TFM 24 amp and listen to mostly rock and alternative.My room is fairly open, basically it's in an upstairs loft. Any opinions, or should I just keep saving my money?
