B.T. Express - Looking For Similar Music

Recently stumbled across an LP copy of “Do It” by B.T. Express in bunch of vinyl I’d acquired-in-bulk some years back.  Very taken, both with the hypnotic, driving style of this music as well as top flight SQ of the recording.  Definitely setting out to score additional tunes by this group......Could anyone point me in the direction of similar, very well recorded LPs from R&B/Funk artists of that time period or perhaps later with the same musical style?  I’m especially interested in groups from this genre who were sort of “overlooked treasures” from those times that weren’t played-to-death on top 40 radio.  Thanks in advance!
