Ayre QB-9 twenty vs Chord Hugo TT2

Has anyone had the chance to hear both these DACs? I recently bought an Ayre AX-7e and really like it. I am using it with a Chord Qutest, which sounds great but am itching to try a balanced DAC with the Ayre. If I get the Chord used I think they will be within $500 to $1000 of each other depending on what I have to pay for a QB-9. Thanks in advance for any opinions you might have.

I wasn't aiming to match the Codex, just aiming to provide interim DAC service.
The OP can also get a non DSD QB-9, the upgrade price of $1.5K still applies, so the savings would be even greater.
The Schiit Modi is okay, but the Gungnir or Yggy would be a closer match to the Codex.

A week ago there was a QB-9 DSD listed on the Canadian Mart for about $1200 USD.  If you decided on the Twenty upgrade, you'd be in at $2700 ($1200 + $1500).  I decided to buy a $99 Schiit Modi 3 to use while my Codex is being serviced -- it is a secondary setup after all, a QX-5 Twenty is my primary DAC and Roon endpoint.
This is going to be a tough one.  As you know, the QB-9 Twenty is only available as an upgrade on the QB-9 so you almost have to have a QB-9 to hear the Twenty version of it.  If you are happy with the QB-9, why have the TT2?  Just saying.

If you are happy with your Qutest, the TT2 is going to give you....more.  More detail, a bigger soundstage.  It is a more engaging unit IMO.

If you want a new one, I will gladly take your Qutest on trade toward a TT2.  I think you will be pleasantly surprised at the price you would pay.  PM me if you are interested.
Make sure you use a high quality USB cable, preferably one with separate power as Codex USB is bus powered. I use a two headed cable so power is completely separated from signal until the very end.
I do think OP would be well served by using balanced connections from a DAC to the A7e.  I've been using a Codex to my A7e with KEF LS50s.  The sound is excellent.  Sources are an Ayre C-5xeMP disc player and ultraRendu Roon endpoint.
I suggest you look at an Ayre Codex. Not quite a QB 9 Twenty, but very good for the money.
If you can score a used QB 9 non DSD, you will come out ahead with the upgrade- it doesn't matter which iteration, the upgrade price of $1500 is the same.
