Ayon Triton for Wilson Duettes?

The Duettes use a 1 inch Doped Silk Fabric Dome tweeter.
They are the only speaker in the Wilson lineup to use it.
To me that is the real beauty of the Duettes.
I'm certain the external crossovers and resistors contribute as well.

RGS, to me the beauty of the Duettes was their external cross-overs. The speakers are delivered with various resistors to tailor the sound to your likes, room, speaker location, etc. . . I don't recall if th tweeter was the same, but I think it is the same as the W/P 7 or Sophia?

But the resistors were the key. They should have integrated this design into the W/P, IMO.

Speaking of the Duettes if you don't mind me chiming in (apologies), do they have that nice Wilson detailed bass without the titanium tweeter's edginess I hear?

Bajaokla - I've had the Ayon gear since May of 2010. I bought from USA tube audio - Very knowlegable staff. Read the reviews in The Absolute Sound - Mar 2011 isssue. I am considering Magico or Wilson audio speakers for this combo of mine. Right know i have customized Sonus Faber with Revelator tweeters & crossover.

I don't see any reason why the Triton wouldn't work with the Duettes.

don't have the triton nor wilsons, do have the ayon spirit and to you question about reliability i've had none whatsoever, amp is very well built , easy to bias, holds the bias well and is very musical to my ears - use genelex GL reissue kt88s, nos rca 12 au7s in the driver stage and cfte mazda 12 au7s in the signal stage

Thanks guys. I like the ARC stuff, but have really gotten into tubes lately. I am also a bit shallow, the Ayon looks really cool!
Hbvuurmans, how long have you had the Ayon? Who did you buy from?

I have the Ayon Triton and CD2 with Sonus Faber. Can't ask for better envolving sound. Great gear!!

Baj, I don't know the Ayon to comment. But I did own the Duettes for about a year. They are great speakers and truly wonderful if your room is moderate to smaller in size. I ran the Duettes with a variety of SS amps, but also with some BAT VK-60 amps in mono configuration. The sound was very nice and performance excellent. The bass was better with the SS amps (no surprise there), but outside of that, the tubed amps were great.

Can't you get the Ayon amp before selling the ARC amp and then compare yourself? That is what I would do. I don't know how you came to the Ayon amp vs. others, but I am sure you have a good reason.
