Audiophile recordings of stage musicals

Don’t know about audiophile quality, but the 1987 cast of "Anything Goes" sounds good to me (RCA 7769).

I have an import cd of the original cast recording, but can’t locate it right now (think the jacket is red or pink).

I also like Marlene Dietrich "Live at the Cafe De Paris" (Sony MDK 47254), and...

"Les Parapluies de Cherbourg" (2 CD set/Sony SM2K 62678).

Don’t know it’s on CD, but it took me years to find a mint "56" LP copy of "Li’l Abner", and it’s good.

I can’t point out any classics, but two more recent Broadway cast recordings That sound good are Sting’s The Last Ship, and Dylan’s Girl from North County.  

I've been listening to Guys and Dolls for 50 years (maybe more). Dad had the box set on 45 and I have the same on CD. Movie cast recording, still sounds pretty good. 

It doesn't matter if it's the original cast recording or a revival, or if it's from the Broadway or London cast.

surely the performance is paramount, buying recordings for SQ is for listening to your system, which is what a lot of audiophiles do….

Jesus Christ Superstar! Both the original cast recording and the 25th anniversary London cast version. I was listening to the original version back in 1970!
