I owned the Audio Rsearch PH-3 and thought it was OK ..Nothing spectacular..My guess you will end up using the Mac. Phono and selling the ARC-PH3
Audio Research PH-3 vs. Mcintosh C2200 phono stage
I'm getting a Mcintosh C2200 with a tube phono stage next week. I've been using an Audio Research PH-3 (non SE) as my phono stage with a music hall mmf-7. Does anyone have experience with the c2200 phono stage? My question is, would the c2200 be the same or better? If so I can sell the AR PH-3 since it wouldn't be necessary.
