Audio Physic Scorpio

As a long time Virgo II owner I am curious if anyone has heard the new Scorpios. How do the compare to Avanti III and Virgos II. I have also been looking at Hyperion 938, Dali MS4, VS 4jrs, Verty Fidelio Encores. So many choices.

I heard the Dali MS5 (several auditions at a well regarded highend dealer in LA), but I thought the Hyperions were better.
The Scorpio is extremely revealing with the right system matching and room treatment. My scorpio ( S/no. 071) came from the first batch of production and I bought it without auditioning banking on its trade mark reputation of transparency and ability to be truthful. I am glad to report that it meets my expectation and the overall balance of tonality from top to bottom ia more than I can bargain for given the price I paid for it. The High was high enough without being edgy and ear piercingly metallic. The mid was sufficiently warm but not so much that musical details are marred. The bottom end was capable enough to handle timpani / bass drum with sufficient applomb. But of course being limited to 30 Hz. the weight and authority of the bottom end is notin the same league of other bigger and much more massive designs. The Scorpio is capable of presenting a palpable 3 dimensional soundscape ( of course the source must have it in the first place ) with proper room treatment. Off the box it took my set about 2 months to break in ( 200 hrs) . At first it sounded rough, muddy and unnaturally boommy. In time it evolved into a beautiful diamond like speaker. It sparkles. The airy perspective ia pretty satisfying.
Highly recommended.

Not the same lineage. Different designer and, in my opinion, not in the same league as the Virgo II or Avanti III.
