Audio for Sharp 70" TV

Just ordered the Sharp (732). Have two audio systems available (in storage atm so model numbers are fuzzy recall). Listening room is 19x22, with TV 6 feet off 19' wall. Viewing distance is 14'.

System A: Harmon Kardon 930 receiver from long ago.

System B: Adcom GTP-500 preamplifier and GFA-535 amp (have to confirm model number on the amp, but matches the preamplifier)

Speakers: Advent smaller models, refoamed.

Inputs: Denon 5 disc CD player, AVI single CD player (will get details from storage unit), probably will add OPPO 93, digital cable box (HD)

I know I can just leave all this in storage and get a new system, but humor me.

What could I add to either system to use what I have and surpass the sound from the TV speakers for $1000
System B is quite good electronics. I would say the best things you can do for less than $1K is buy speakers and if you are serious about your video a sub that integrates well for movies...that is serious fun when the action flicks start rolling!!! Note you will have to work hard for musical integration. The older s/hand Velodyne works pretty well for a few hundred.

As for speakers, if you wish to stick with bookshelves, i would say: Celestion SL600si, SL700si, (both shielded for video purposes), Totem Acoustics...all good musical speakers (Totem have superior bass, Celestion have magical midrange). All these are available second hand if you search for a few hundred.

if you dont wish to do sub, $1K used will get you pretty far. PSB makes good clean speakers, SFaber has some older floorstanders which are quite good. Epos...the list goes on.

good luck and pls keep us posted.
This opportunity fell apart when HHGregg tried a bait and switch on me.

Now I am pursuing a digital music solution independent of the TV, and will look at the speaker lines mentioned.

Thanks for taking time to reply.
