Ars Sonum Filarmonia and cable length.

I plan on having long IC's and short speaker cables as I think the other way 'round looks goofy(to me). Anyone isolating the amp on a good stand(GPA, Finite Elemente, Symposim Ultra etc)?

Long ICs and short speaker cables is the general consensus for best sound. Although one does have to be careful about overall IC capacitance and the amplifier output impedance. I would discuss with the amplifier manufacturer.
The general concensus is(from what I've read)is as I've stated. The amps will be behind the speakers and the equipment rack will be next to the listening position. Maybe other members will chime in.
I have my Ars Sonum Filarmonia sitting on a SolidSteel rack behind the plane of the Merlin speakers. While your aesthetic preferences dictate having long IC's and short speaker cables, almost everything that I have read seems to indicate that the opposite scheme would not only be more cost effective (given equal quality speaker and IC cables), but would also provide better sound. Do a search and see what you come up with. In the mean time, I hope you are deriving as much musical enjoyment from your Ars as I am from mine.
