Are these fake?

Seller is in China, looks fake due the price of course... but I know sometimes they can be "fell off the truck" situations. Insight anyone?

I feel guilty for laughing. I wonder how many people actually considered trying it.
Fake for sure. Don’t have to be an expert.  The common sense (price) tells the truth as always.
Furutech addresses this on its website.   http://www.furutech.com/2013/02/02/1750/  scroll to the bottom.  It says do not buy any of their products on eBay that ship out of China or Hong Kong due to the possibility they are counterfeit.
I have a FPX outlet I bought last month from VH Audio.  The markings on the front are different and the back does not look at all like what is shown in the picture.
Look just like the Furutech GTX outlets I installed. But save your pennies for the authorized product. I buy from VHAudio. It will arrive much sooner too.
FURUTECH flags them as cheap POS fakes

http://www.furutech.com/2013/02/02/1746/

“ .... Caution* eBay, Amazon and Rakuten resellers in Japan are not authorized Furutech dealers.

Caution* There have been confirmed cases of counterfeit products (Furutech replicas) being sold out of China and Hong Kong on eBay and www.aliexpress.com. Furutech advises against purchasing from either site any “Furutech” labeled product that ships from China or Hong Kong....”

Looks like Millercarbon called it for what it is.... full-stop.
At that price, here's hoping someone takes the bait so we can find out the sources of these fakes. They might be really good units but some seller decided to slap the Furutech moniker on them--that's the crime.
I recently bought a desk lamp from Amazon, but it wasn't Amazon--it was someone in China. If I want to return it, it appears that I have to go through some rigmarole or other to get a refund.
Beware!
I have been in the audio industry more than 35 yrs. First my opinion is that they are fake. Second concerning anything to due with AC power is," UL rated and tested". If the product is fake and your home burns down, I hope the insurance investigator does not find it. But all thats important is did you purchase the real thing , and as others have mentioned what comes out of China is not always what it appears.
Has anyone’s home ever burned down because their power cords weren’t UL rated? Really? Are you hot dogging me? 🌭
I never really planned on buying the China knock off, but was mostly wondering how counterfeit it ‘really’ was, not just in aesthetics. There’s always talk about the same production facilities offloading surplus to black market, I know this very well from encountering it quite often in my dayjob. Alas, no pirate Furutech products were purchased over here. Thank you all.

If lockdown has been good for anything in my home, it’s been DIY. Installed the whole house surge protector last week, and yesterday finished pulling 50ft of 10 gauge cable through 50ft of conduit in the crawl space under my house. To say I’m in physical pain is an understatement LOL. But because I bypassed the cost of an electrician running the dedicated circuit, I ‘splurged‘ on a SR blue duplex and plate. I know there’s lots of heated debate on here over the SR receptacle bring simply a juiced up Leviton, so I installed it alongside a Leviton to A/B and see if I can hear a difference between the two, won’t be a true A/B since it’s not the exact base but we’ll see. My ears might be there yet, but again, bored in lockdown and needed projects.

Hello all in this thread,
Graeme Coley (Sales & Marketing) for Furutech Japan here. Absolutely the receptacle in the link (eBay.com) is a copy. Along with a few other copy GTX-D receptacles, it should be removed from eBay in a day or two. Thanks for the heads up.

Please note that no Furutech products or product parts are made in China and import duties on Japanese products shipping into China are extremely high. It would be impossible for an authentic Furutech product to ship from China at anything less than double the price you would pay in the US or pretty much anywhere else in the world. Any Furutech badged product listed on eBay, amazon, Alibaba that ships out of China will be fake. Also as a caution, there have been numerous cases of Chinese sourced copy Furutech product listed on Japanese eBay and amazon.

In the US, visit VH Audio or Cable Co. webstores for authentic Furutech product.
Thanks!

@coley Thank you for the thorough info and glad to be of service :-)

@isochronism Almond Joy cost $200, Mounds don't!

Really $400 for a wall outlet, what's the big deal when alot of you guys pay a $1,000 bucks for a power cable and that's cheap.
