Are audiophiles pot heads???

In the recent Listener there is a picture of a cute babe with her fingers to her mouth as if she is hitting on a joint.Under the picture it says"This is why (her name) does not date audiophiles. Is this just a joke or is there some truth to this?

I'd guess diehard audiophiles are not primarily potheads. When you're strait, your system must naturally possess more resolution to sound expressive. Desiring and acheiving that requires insight and dedication to reality. In contrast, dopers habitually rely on chemicals to turn on their musical appreciation. As such they can make do with less elaborate systems. In the short run, it's cheap and easy. Which is the wiser course? Pound for pound, I'll take good gear over killer pot any day of the week. The intensity of enjoying music strait is cleaner, all natural, more accessible, enduring, memorable and repeatable. Added bonus: when a babe appears, you get the chance to genuinely commmunicate with her. There's no telling where that could lead - musical 'reproduction'?
Seems to me being an audiophile means you dont have any money to spare for gas, beer, or grass. Only time Listener gets a read is when I get off the bus at the stop in front of Barnes and Nobel after a 12 hour day. Not only free reads and usage of the water fountain till 11 pm. Well got go, think the new tubes i had imported for my Ongaku should come today......
Based on the results of a couple of threads awhile ago re: "The best beer made anywhere", I'd guess that most of our A'phile Brothers are mostly into suds. And I suspect you could occasionally spot a few crawling out to the kitchen for another liter of vino also. Cheers. Craig.
My advise is never judge sound after hitting a big fatty. I dont know anyone who crashed his car, beat his wife, or couldnt make it to work in the morning because of pot. Cant say that about the govornment supported drug. Politics aside, whatever floats your boat is your business. PS-reggae is religious music, and I think a Scooby-snack is required.
This question is based a misreading of the picture in Listener - a very fine mag by the way - I think the focus is on the space between the woman's thumb and forefinger, probably something to do with the size of the average audiophiles member?
Well to give you a liitle background on me. I"m a 28 yrs. old male that is an Executive Headhunter, I'm not a geek,I don't smoke pot, but I do like a few beers and a grape once in a while. Me being an Audiophile is a Hobby just like my dads trains were to him, just like golf is to my brother($2000 dollar clubs and $100+ around). The only difference is I don't get upset when I hit a made shot or the train jumps the track only when I scatch a CD or LP.

Actually, quite the opposite for me. Along with various other music classifications; I most often listen to sacred music which I believe to be a form of worship.
I doubt you would have asked if audiophiles are alcoholics if the baby was holding a wine glass. The pot stigma really ought to go by the wayside, smoking pot is no worse than drinking a six pack of beer. To each his own is my motto, I would imagine some audiophiles partake in bud, many others don't.
