heard that very combo at a home in NC. remarkable clarity and detail retrieval, non fatiguing. was using ARC front end (ref 5 and cd7 i think). good staging and bass depth. could've lived with it.
i think that without tubes somewhere, it would sound like good digital, and i do not mean that as a compliment---clarity without soul. put tubes or vinyl up front, should be quite good.
