Amir, founder of WBF forum, started this very nice tutorial thread on using REW. I don’t think he ever did finish it but it should give you a good start.

I had the worst experience working to integrate a pair of new subs into a (new) listening room, used a sound pressure meter and tonal sweep, but it just didn't sound right. I found using REW and a miniDSP calibration microphone worked wonders in helping me 1) place bass traps and 2) adjust the placement and settings on the subs to most effectively integrate with the speakers and the room.
I highly recommend the combination, will save you time and headaches!
Revive an old thread... I have a computer feeding a DAC feeding a preamp feeding a power amp feeding the speakers. I have a new USB microphone and loaded Room EQ Wizard. I typically use JRiver to deliver FLAC files to my DAC.
With REW loaded, it sees the microphone just fine, but how do I get the sweeps to play through my speakers?
