Anyone know where the Virtual Systems went?

I used to be able to click on a UserID  > details > .....  to see the authors (virtual) system. Now all I see is discussion list and responses list. It seems like the Virtual System Link is gone although sometimes I could swear that I see the text "Virtual System" pop up for fraction of a second.

Is this is happening to anyone else? It seems it started right about the time that "bot checking" began.

I've tried from:
1) iPhone

2) iPad

3) MacBook Pro

4) Win 10 desktop

All systems are updated with latest patches from the respective vendors.

Please chime in if you are also experiencing this.

Thank you for your time.

@noromance Click on "user name/handle" (aka UserID) then "Details" is  No Joy.

The Virtual Systems no longer appear. Only "Discussions" and "Responses".

This used to work for me, however, not any more. I've seen other long time posters ask how to see the Virtual System. I don't think it was because they forgot how.

I'll assume that by your response, you are still able to see Virtual Systems with no issue. I think there are a few of us who can't any more.

I stopped being able to view Virtual Systems around the time that Bot Checking started.

Thanks for looking into this!

@elliottbnewcombjr Just to confirm, you used to be able to see Virtual Systems but no longer. Is that correct?

Any idea when this 'feature' stopped working for you?

Thank you for your time.

You access a member’s profile page after getting the drop-down menu when you click on their name-from there you can see their virtual setup. I’ve never noticed if their system was an option in the drop down. If it was an option, it has been deleted from the drop-down choices.

Just an extra click of the mouse or finger tap-carry on.

They show up on this iMac (Safari).

Something happened in the past week in that A'Gon loads faster (for me), and I wonder if they performed any fixes/upgrades.

Have you tried deleting cookies and/or emptying the cache?

Correct. When it's working. It's not working for everyone.

Thanks for your time!

I did. Thanks for your time!

Something's up with Virtual Systems.  A long time ago (a year?) virtual systems disappeared for me at the end of the daily "Recent Activity" page.  A couple of days ago, they finally made their reappearance and they're there right now.

Don’t know what to tell you, but I just checked a few members systems without any problems.

When I clicked onto Tablejockey’s Profile page, no Virtual System pictures or links to them show up. On Twoleftears and Noromance’s Profile Pages the System pictures are right there on the Profile Page. It might be Tablejockey hasn’t posted any pictures of his system, possibly like some of the individuals systems you’ve tried to access. Try Twoleftears’ or Noromance’s Profile page and see if their pictures show up for you. Both their pictures are not labeled "Virtual System" pictures, only "Systems" however, far as I’m seeing. Don’t try my name as I’ve no pictures on display. All three of their names are right above to click. Let us know what comes up for you.

Mike

Yes, up until several months ago, I would just highlight a name, pick details from drop down menu, go to a page that showed their information and Virtual System(s) as a choice (if they had one or more), i.e. I have 3 separate Virtual Systems.

I now have a hard time finding my own Virtual Systems. The drop down menu sometimes is a short list, I click ’edit’ and then a long list appears where I can select Virtual Systems

From the beginning, I have had a random experience finding private messages, they do not always show up either.

There's a weird quirk. If you click on a user's name when it's below their original post in a new thread, it's disappeared. But if you click on the name of any thread responder, then the popup shows DETAILS; that takes you to a list of their posts but it DOES show their systems at the top.

Hey @tammyholt you might want to look at that. Cheers,

Nope. Doesn't work for me - it used to.

Can't click on my name and see my system either, I have go into 'Edit Account' then to the drop down menu and 'My virtual systems'.

Somethings not right.

I just tried noromance and twoleftears

no systems or virtual systems show up.

like tobes, to see my own, I have to go to 'Edit Account' to see my virtual systems as a choice

@elliottbnewcombjr

Using iPad, I just touched your name, then details and your 3 systems came up. Same with noromance, his one system, and twoleftears shows 2 systems.

On your drop-down > Help >General >How Do I Contact Support.

Tammy (Admin) usually responds quickly, she will take care of you. I hope this helps.

Worked off my cell phone but not on laptop, it used too

I've been assuming it is a global site problem and like a power failure, they must be working on it.

I'll write Tammy, thanks for the info.

Maybe I need to re-install windows and or Chrome, IOW it might be a quirk on my computer??

It’s working now.

Still not working for me - at least on my Android phone.

Will try later on pc/Mac.

FWIW, I cleared the browsing history/cache on my Windows laptop - still not showing systems after clicking on ’Details’, just Discussions and Responses.

Same.

@elliottbnewcombjr I'm looking forward to seeing that turntable with three tone arms. Is one of them for a mono cartridge?

curiousjim

Yes, I love it. All thanks to help received here!

I joined audiogon specifically to get advice about a long tonearm.

Part of that is, put long arm on what?

Next a discussion about using true MONO cartridges

Next, find out about the JVC Victor CL-P2 Plinth with Two Removable Armboards.

Happy with 2 arms, Stereo and MONO, until I realized I was needlessly putting wear on my non-replaceable MC stylus while selling LP’s, giving them all a farewell listen. So I squeezed a 3rd arm on, Mission/Jelco with compact counterweight section, so now MC/MM/Mono up and ready.

Found a SUT with 3 selectable inputs.

....................................

current discussion about two arms or two TTs

if u cannot see the virtual systems, perhaps this link will take you to mine, several photos of my 3 arm TT there.

Just checking. Virtual Systems through UserID  > details, still not working for me. Only Discussions and Responses appear.

There is a fix to view Virtual Systems, be that your own or others, although I’m not sure if the same applies for everyone here.

For those with the issue of not being able to view a Virtual System, try the following:

Notice that when you try to access a system, the following URL is produced (I’m using my own profile here, where the last part of the URL is my user name):

https://forum.audiogon.com/users/phusis

The issue is the first part of the URL after "https://" where it says ’forum.’ What it should say to access a virtual system is ’systems,’ so the correct URL is:

https://systems.audiogon.com/users/phusis

Simply manually changing the first word of the URL from ’forum’ to ’systems,’ at least in my case, solves the matter, and you’re now able to view a Virtual System.

Virtual Systems are back for me... I don't check every day so I'm not sure when this service was restored for me. It appears this glitch was affecting only a few of us.

this NOW goes to my virtual system for me, 3 arm turntable shown here

btw, you can click full frame at the top, ads disappear and captions show up
