Anyone heard the BAT5i to SE conversion?

Have had the V5i for several years and am considering an upgrade for more detail, sound stage, etc. Would appreciate comments if you have heard both or done the conversion.

Also, has anyone had the opportunity to compare the Hoveland Preamp to either the 5i or 5SE? Thanks.
