I avoid where possible Chinese made products as I do not wish to support economically a government that represses their people, nor encourages other countries effectively to do the same with their own citizens. As well, economically they do all they can to not have A level playing field and it is foolish for other countries to just accept that without placing similar barriers against China including blocking purchases of companies by Chinese entities. Fair is fair after all. While the US has often been a poor world citizen, the heavy handed tactics in the South China sea basically thumb the noses as any world order with respect to land rights of other countries, and we need to not accept that from any country.
