Haven't heard the Capitole, but the BAT is a very satisfying, "analog-like" player in that it has plenty of resolution and extension when you bother to listen for that, but what always strikes me about it is the richness, tonal density, dynamic ease, sheer music-making...just puts me in communion with the players and leaves the "hi-fi" aspects in the dust. Even lousy '80s CDs are listenable on this player, and the good ones rival very good analog.
