Tried the following configurations -
Single amps single wired
Single amps bi-wired
Identical amps passively bi-amped
Best by miles was single amp/single wire. Bi-wiring and passive bi-amping lost coherency and sharpness.
I own Tannoy GRF Professionals - similar to your Westminsters, but with longer horn.
With over 20 years experience with different amps of all types - OTL's, Tube, Solid State, my conclusions are strongly that despite the apparent efficiency the speakers sound much much better with high quality high power solid state - I use Brown Electronic Lab 200 watt mono blocks, previously Jeff Rowland mono blocks and Perreaux 5150B heavily modded.
Have tried Atmasohere OTL's, single ended and push pull tube amps of various soughts all dud.
I am not a headbanger - listen to primarily classical and Jazz.
