I know some time has passed but is the Philips VAM1202 a reliable transport mechanism. I found that some parts are available for it but am wondering like the OP if it is reliable. Thanks everyone in advance.
Anybody heard the Raysonic CD238 yet, or too new?
On paper it looks quite nice with four tubes, two C-core power transformers, two BB1792 DAC's, and some good specs including S/N Ratio>106dB. I also like that they exchanged the stupid lid on the CD well for a sliding door and cleaned up the front panel. However, I am not too sure about the Philips VAM 1202 transport mechanism, even if it is a top loader - are those reliable and readily available?
