Any Audio Enthusiasts in Alabama?

Anyone out there?

Mississippi here. Where are the good audio centers in our area???? I'm a newbee putting together a system. Are there any audio shows near, say Atlanta? TY
Hello Catfishbob-
check out the Atlanta, GA link for info related to audio shows/shops.
I'm in Athens Alabama. And I have to travel out of town and most of the time out of state to audition new equipment. Only a Martin Logan dealer in Huntsville.
Your exactly right Kgturner. I recently traveled to Atlanta to listen to the Bryston 28B SST Mono Amps. They were very impressive. I plan on listening to the Audio Research Ref 5 Preamp with the Ref CD8 for comparison to the Ref 3 CD7.
My system consist of Macintosh MC402 Amp, Macintosh C46 Pre Amp, Audio Research CD7, Paradigm Signature S8 Speakers. I have been reading lots of post on cables and want to upgrade in the near future. My interconnects are nothing special just Balanced Tributaries, Power cables are all standard that came with equipment, Speaker cables are from Likis Audio no brand name, Yellow in color, Biwire.
Sweet Home Alabama where the skies are so blue!

I'm in Gadsden.

are there any Audiophiles along the Alabama/Florida panhandle?
Still streaming and listening to all genres at my lo-fi in Rockford. Jafant, when you open a store/showroom, can I work there?

I just wandered into this thread starting with your Thiel Owners thread. I'm in Vestavia Hills (Birmingham suburb) and I'm enjoying my Thiels like you. Are you nearby?
Looking forward to your arrival- dancekerl

jonandfamily, as you can see, I started this thread quite a number of years ago.  There is one other audiophile in my immediate area. I have (2) colleagues in the Mobile area in which we gather and listen  a few times each year.  It would be really nice to set-up an Audio Club.

Happy Listening!
I’m in Harpersville. My gear isn’t audiophile quality but I love great sound. I wish we could get up a listening club for meetings every couple of months.
Home sweet home in Westover.
Wife abducted the “he-man” rig for the master bedroom. Gotta love that.
i kept 1 of the other 2 for the SIT’s and Harbeths.
unipivot on VPI did in my Kleos, so I’m looking at the Hana Lineup for a replacement.
now I learn they are offering a diy to change it into a gimbaled mount.😡
anyone close by is welcome to come by and jam 👍
I'm a bit late for this thread....here in Athens AL. Would love to be part of an audiophile club!

Welcome! I see that you are not far from me here in Prattville.
I do wish that we could muster up an Audio Club. I am in the process of completing my system. Once completed, I will be in a position to host for those who want to drive I-65 south to the Montgomery area. Or, I -65 north from the coast to the Montgomery area.  Happy Listening!

Good to see you here as well. I would be interested in stopping by for a Jam sometime. Looks like there are a few of you guys in the Jefferson/Shelby county area.  Happy Listening!

No such thing as being late. Glad you found this thread. We are the few and the proud here. Anything going on in your immediate area? Any Audio shop(s) there in Huntsville, AL. ? I know that there was 1 or 2 a few years ago. You are not far from Nashville, TN.

Happy Listening!
Dancekerl I lost track of this thread after I posted. I’d love to come hear your setup sometime. You can send me a friend request on fb to Alan Bowers. You’re more than welcome to come hear my less than ideal rig too.
Jafant, as I mentioned to Dancekerl, I lost track of this thread. You’re more than welcome to come by but you don’t need to make a special trip to hear my stuff.  Then again if it’s a rainy weekday we can sit and jam all day long if our tastes are similar. I lean towards rock and what used to be called heavy metal and hair bands from the 70s and 80s. I also like a lot of 90s and 00s rock but there’s a lot that I don’t. Music ain’t what it used to be. I have some diversity. I like an occasional new country song but it usually really isn’t country. I like older country even going as far back as Hank but I sure as hell ain’t gonna play Your Cheatin’Heart. The sound quality of music that old doesn’t cut it but I’ll hear it live anytime. I really like music with great production. By that I mean something like several of Celine Dion and Disturbed songs. The quality of the sound just makes you scratch your head and wonder why all recordings can’t sound like that. When my sub hits those bass notes with Celine it sends a warm chill through me and I sometimes get goosebumps. Then again,a lot of the music I mentioned doesn’t really sound any better on good gear because it wasn’t recorded well but the songs are still my faves. You can friend and message me on fb. Alan Bowers. There’s a group called Aging Alabama Audiophiles on there too.
I am in Alabama we buy/sell as much used hi end gear as anyone in America. That includes the Coastal Elites!
Don't know about anyone else, but I'm here bmwk1300s    Saw your post last week but haven't had a chance to respond. I'm in Harpersville.
Birmingham area. I have a pair of turntables and some schiit gear, but still planning my speaker/hardware purchases. Feel free to pm me.
I am in southern Tennessee about 60 miles north of Huntsville. I have all kinds of Klipsch and besides my personal system normally have a variety of things to listen to. Nothing fancy here but the sound if anyone cares to stop in I am always up for visits. My personal system by the way is a derivative of the Klipsch MCM 1900 MWM bass bin except mine goes down to 27hz as a single fold horn and has a Klipsch K-402 horn on top. You want to sit next to the 32 foot pipes stop in.
Birmingham area audio meet. Lots of us in the general area. where would be the best place to meet? Summit or Hoover? Meet for on a Saturday and introduce ourselves to each other. I can be reached glfrancis2 at google mail...
