Another DAC question

I was just thinking...If i get a DAC and use my current CDP as the transport, will I be able to play DTS through my system if the DAC is feeding back into my yamaha DSP-A1 through analog channels? My yamaha auto detects through the digital feeds i thought. Any thoughts?

What would be the source of the DTS signal? A CDP will not put out DTS, or read a DTS disc.

@Mhedges, There are DTS CDs. I have a few of them but I haven't seen any
new title being released for quite some time.

@Monterey, No. It won't work. You need to connect the digital out of the CDP
directly to the DSP-A1 for it to decode DTS signal unless your DAC can
decode DTS itself.
